Short Biography of Chirag Patnaik

Chirag Patnaik works at the intersection of marketing, communications, technology & politics. His experience over the last 2 decades has spanned media and technology. He has worked in the largest media and technology firms including The Times of India, India Today, Indiamart & Samsung among others. He also worked at the Indian National Congress where he was running the social media and technology operations in the run-up to the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

He also ran a startup focusing to enable, the corner mom & pop shop, which is now defunct. 

He has experience in building and marketing diverse categories of products from newspapers, websites, B2B services and software products.

His special interest is in data-led decision support systems. His interventions in Indiatimes for their web properties led to a 40% jump in available inventory and better targeting, pioneered the introduction of then-new technologies like Ajax. 

An avid technology enthusiast, he created his first website in 1996, his first blog in 2000.

An “army-brat”, he has lived and studied across India, spending the first 20 years of his career in Delhi. He recently moved to Bombay, where he currently runs product and engineering at Prashnam

It brings a consumer-grade user experience for what was hitherto the preserve of research professionals.

He also consults on deploying technology for political campaigns in Africa.
